Hit the slopes then hit the rave: Snowbombing is back with in the snowy Austrian mountains of Mayrhofen for five days of getting on the piste and feeling the bass. The music festival that combines snow-based sport with top DJs, bands and live acts this year introduces a magical Narnia area and The 12 Sheds of Easter — read on for more details.

Up in the snowy mountains of Mayrhofen, Austria for five days Snowbombing has in the past has hosted a rave 3,000m above sea level in a frosty igloo at the Arctic Disco, had some of the worlds biggest bands and DJs in the thick of a snow capped Alpine Forest, put on a knees up in a cosy log cabin at the Back Country Party and roused a crazy Street Party over the whole village. This year Snowbombing invites revellers to grab their fur coat and enter a hidden world of magical and mystical adventure where nothing is what it seems and anything could happen: open the wardrobe door and enter the surreal world of Narnia.
/photos/features/zb1267903715.jpgHidden deep in one of Snowbombing’s favourite venues, Narnia will bring lucky Snowbombers a secret line up of the best DJs this side of Cair Paravel. Think sparkling snow, (jager) tea with Mr Tumnus and surprises round every tree in the land where twinkling disco balls, cosmic beats and none stop dancing are the law of the land. Open the wardrobe doors and catch a secret set from some very special Snowbombing guests disguised as some familiar characters —it’s a world you may not want to leave.

Hidden deep in one of Snowbombing’s favourite venues, Narnia will bring lucky Snowbombers a secret line up of the best DJs this side of Cair Paravel.

But you may well be sidetracked by the not-so-secret line-up elsewhere, topped by global megastar DJ Fat Boy Slim, mash-up masters 2ManyDJs, indie lads The Enemy, sentimental indie trio Doves, glum-rock’s finest Editors, hip hop legends De La Soul and the driving electro stylings of Vitalic. Dubstep fans can get their bass faces on for Skream and Benga, technoheads can enjoy the stylings of Adam Beyer and Slam and there will be drum and bass from Andy C and Sub Focus. London’s underground party collective the Urban Nerds headed by Rattus Rattus and Klose One will rubs shoulders with luminaries such as James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, the Scratch Perverts, the Stanton Warriors and DJ Yoda while breakbeat favourites Krafty Kuts and the Plump DJs help ensure every genre is covered. There are plenty more acts over the five days to feed all musical appetites, with other highlights such as The Whip, Example and Friendly Fires. For the full line-up visit www.snowbombing.com/en.

/photos/features/zb1267903848.jpgTogether with these acts and the secret Narnia line-up, Snowbombers themselves can get involved with their own area. The “12 Sheds of Easter” will see a whole garden centre full of sheds installed in the mountains with a sound system inviting Snowbombers to name, theme, dress and possess one! The sheds are a blank canvas where Snowbombers can get disco crazy creative and design their own party pad for the night and then host their own private party.
