• New Order headline Bestival

  • The reformed New Order will headline Bestival on its Saturday night. Gillian Gilbert has rejoined the long-running act and they will play the main stage on the third day of The Isle of Wight festival, this year running from Thursday, September 6th to Sunday, September 9th.

Also announced are live appearances from Friendly Fires, psychedelic electro-rockers Death in Vegas, art-pop quartet Django Django, the brooding Daughter, rave horn aficionado Drums of Death and the indie-dance of Zulu Winter. LA beats stable Brainfeeder will present Thundercat, The Gaslamp Killer, Teebs, Lapalux, Jeremiah Jae and DJ Kutmah. Doctor P, Pearson Sound, Borgore, Flux Pavilion, Max Cooper, and Billy Daniel Bunter will also get behind the decks.

In the Ambient Forest this year there will be a new stage called the Amphitheatre hosting eclectic treats such as live film scores, comedy sketch shows, theatre and poetry. Bestival curator Rob da Bank said: "So I’ve got “Blue Monday” blaring out of the Bestival HQ office speakers as we unveil our iconic Saturday night headliner New Order. It doesn’t get better than that… but it does! True Faith, Bizarre Love Triangle, Fine Time, Regret – so many amazing records i grew up listening to and still listen to now and they still sound immense, pioneering, legendary. See you down the front!"

Two more headliners are still to be announced. For all the latest news go to www.bestival.net.
