Brick Lane Music Festival September 18th & 19th 2010

The long summer days and fields of happy campers dancing to their favourite music may be over until next year, but Brick Lane is keeping the festival vibe alive with a free music spread across four of its live venues this weekend.

The Brick Lane Music Festival will see the likes of Congo Natty, DJ Vadim, the Urban Nerds, Man Like Me, Ray Keith and Brad Baloo play as Big Chill Bar, Vibe Bar, Cafe 1001 and All Star Lanes join forces for multi-venue fun.


Big Chill Bar
Line-up includes: Mixmaster Morris / Earl Gateshead / Dollop DJs / Firas (Filthy Few) / Count Chocula / Dom Servini / Fluidnation / Virgil Howe / Purple Radio

The Big Chill Bar has drawn together a line-up to showcase the brightest talent the venue counts as its residents and friends. With headline slots from the legendary Mixmaster Morris and Earl Gateshead on Saturday and featuring the Big Chill sounds of Purple Radio & Dom Servini on Sunday. This place will see two all-dayers of epic proportion.


Vibe Bar
Line-Up includes: Congo Natty AKA Rebel M.C featuring Congo Dubs / DJ Vadim Presents The Electric / Man Like Me / Brad Baloo (Nextmen) / Urban Nerds / Droppin Science / Dog Is Dead / Alex Mills / Mr Thing /

The summer so often starts with drinking in the courtyard at Vibe Bar so why not end it there? Saturday sees Urban Nerds take over Vibe Live while Droppin Science provide the soundtrack for the bar. Sunday will see sets from Congo Natty aka Rebel M.C featuring Congo Dubs, DJ Vadim, one of half the Nextmen, Brad Baloo, as well as Alex Mills and Mr Thing among others.

Line -up includes: Beatsteady (Live) / Rootsteady / Dubterror / The Soul Jazz Records Sound System Feat. Oxman / Blade Runner / Ray Keith /  Unai Trotti / Tomoki Tamura / Sinner / Sirius / Loco Mosquito / Gabbi Lopez / Kid Am / Tony Scott (Edit Select) / End Tcher /  Slauka & MC Kemon (R.E.N.E.G.A.D.E) / Hylu & Jago (Dubscover, Troublevision)

Cafe 1001 meanwhile will showcase some of East London’s finest talent. Saturday will see Beatsteady, Kid AM, Tony Scott, Loco Mosquito  and resident Gabbi Lopez play. Sunday will feature a special late night party for those who just don’t want to go home featuring Ray Keith, Blade Runner, The Soul Jazz Records Sound System featuring Oxman as well as Dubterror, Hylu & Jago and Slauka & MC Kemon.


All Star Lanes
Line-up from DJ Mag ‘All Stars’ / Rough Trade DJ’S

Finally, you can bop to some of your favourite sounds and knock down some pins at All Star Lanes. The DJ Mag All Stars host the Saturday while the legendary record shop Rough Trade will be sending down it’s resident DJ’s to continue the festivities on the Sunday. All Stars will be offering discounted bowling along with drinks promotions to festival-goers.
