Experimental dance work this dark gleam starts six-month run at ICA London

this dark gleam is a six-month programme of experimental dance work starting from Wednesday, April 3rd at the ICA London.

The programme presents live performances and workshops that act as sites for speculation and reinvention, kicking off with GONER on Wednesday, April 3rd and Thursday, April 4th.

Created by choreographer Malik Nashad Sharpe under the alias marikiscrycrycry, this live performance follows “The Goner”; who is doomed with no chance of survival; a lost and hopeless case.

Touching upon abuse, Caribbean migration, alienation, belonging, addiction, and violence, Goner utilises the aesthetics of horror to create radical visual culture from the marginalised perspective.

Over the next six months, ICA London will present further performance plus a free, monthly reading group exploring raving and contemporary dance as philosophical project.
