UK duo Koven show no stopping in their cinematic drum & bass journey with a seminal second album titled Moments in Everglow this April.
It features huge tracks that have already racked up airplay, and space-to-breathe moments that still contain their signature euphoria. Band member Max Rowat’s high-energy production doubles down on the epic mix of band mate Katie Boyle’s vocals, luscious melodies and electrifying basslines that began with 2020’s Butterfly Effect, and ramps things up a notch.
First track ‘Turning Point’ sets the scene for the 12 track album and feels like a rallying cry. With tracks amplified by a full orchestra and choir, this record elevates Koven’s signature cinematic drum & bass with evocative storytelling to new heights.
Captivating 'Polarised' with rising talent ÆON:MODE is a bonafide reach-for-the-lasers single. ‘Nervous System’, with electronic superstar Steve Aoki, is a towering festival banger as evidenced in footage from Katie’s performance at Tomorrowland last year. Elsewhere on the album, ‘The High We Seek’ is a dancefloor friendly anthem, whilst ‘In The Echo’ tests darker frequencies and whispered lyrics to great effect.
More introspective tracks like ‘Stranger’ and ‘Circles’ still manage to be epic as Katie’s soaring vocals are laced with raw emotion but never without the beats to move, powering this album. It’s this heady mixture that makes them a must to see live. They play London's Outernet on 17th May, and promises an immersive live experience that will be their biggest and most ambitious performance to date.
