Scottish Queer International Film Festival (SQIFF) returns to Glasgow for its 10th year from Monday, October 27th to Sunday, November 1st.
The week will bring together independent LGBTQ+ filmmaking from across the globe with 19 curated programmes screening more than 90 short films, four feature films, world premieres, a Halloween horror event, plus queer craft fair, the Best Scottish Short award competition, industry events and networking for filmmakers, panels, and performances.
Activities will run at screens and venues in Glasgow’s Merchant City, including The Social Hub, GMAC, Listen Gallery, and The Boardwalk, with a late-night party at the iconic Art School.
Highlights include the Scottish premiere of The Serpent’s Skin, the sixth feature film by Alice Maio Mackay, which weaves a blood-soaked tale of trans identity, vengeance, and the supernatural. The film is preceded by surreal and seductive horror short ¡BESO DE LENGUA! by Jose Luiz Zorrero.
SQIFF Director Indigo Korres said: “We are so excited for SQIFF’s 10th edition. We can’t wait to share our ambitious programme with you, including everything from queer heartbreak to camp horror. SQIFF has a fantastic audience and we look forward to coming together again to celebrate queer film, art and community."
