Abundance, rebirth, and love explored at Soho Revue

The work of 12 contemporary artists will be on display across two exhibitions at Soho Revue in London from Tuesday, November 4th to Sunday, December 20th: Saturnalia and Love you, bye.

Saturnalia presents a hedonistic assembly of new work by Lucrezia Abatzoglu, Hazel Flores, Chantal Powell, Lily Macrae, and Nooka Shepherd.

Finding a setting in the ancient Roman Feast of Saturnalia, a midwinter celebration of life, these artworks construct a spectacle of abundance and rebirth.

Through bursts of colour and light, Saturnalia offers a playful celebration of the uncanny and urges a new way of looking at ourselves.

Exploring the deeply romantic nature of platonic love, Love you, bye features Harriet Gillett, Georgina Odell, Johanna Bath, Olivia Bryant, Phoebe Howard, Dean Hoy and Lorena Levi, whose work seeks to commemorate these underappreciated relationships and how they leave a lasting impact.

Love you, bye is a celebration of the loving bonds that vibrate around you when the people who have given it are no longer there.

Whether you have said a temporary goodbye at the end of an evening or it’s one that will last forever, the artists seek to trap the sensation surrounding platonic love and the threads that run from it: friendship, grief, knowing, jealousy, joy, and maternal-like bonds.
